We Did Not See Anything That We Found Interesting, Amusing Or Just Plain Weird Today,

so straight on with today's post,

I meet up with Phil for breakfast at the Punch and Judy, they now prepare a 99 baht English breakfast as well as 140 and 160 baht small and large English breakfasts, plus everything else on the menu,

and the special for today? fish and chips, the Punch and Judy is located between Pattaya 3rd Road and Thepprasit Soi 8, drive down Soi 8 from Thepprasit and it is on the right just past the Eden Hotel which is on the left,

arriving home I noticed one of the cactus had flowered,

it always seems a shame that the flowers last for only 1 day,

 but there it is,

also some of the other cactus had produced more of themselves,

around the base of the original plant,

the Venus fly traps have also been growing well,

for the first few months after we bought them in Bangkok,

they did not do well, but now new traps are appearing quiet regularly,

in the evening we were off to the weekend night market in Thepprasit Road, lots of hello kitties on this stall,

there was a bit of cloud looking towards Jomtien,

 the tower in the distance,

a bit cloudy looking inland, but no thunder this evening,

each of the stalls has a rain/sun cover, most flat or sometimes pointed,

but this pretty in pink stall had the only circular cover I have seen here,

Ben 10 and other super heroes if the kids want fancy dress,

opposite the bar this evening a hand bag stall and one selling secondhand clothes,

 next a real treat,

super sized lychee's, yummy! I know Diana will buy a kilo for us to snack on in the evenings as we watch television,

the food aisles a bit quiet this evening,

 the new aisle also quiet,

but a few people in the pet aisle,

I mentioned a perfume stall the last time we went to a market, here is another one but with a much nicer selection bottles with fragrances already made up,

 sunset over the market,

we meet Sai Jai again this evening,

always a pleasure to see her again, tonight she set up her stall on the steps next to the bar, selling knitted items that she makes herself,

a friend of Brian's called by to say Hi, we chatted the evening away, after saying our farewells we made a move for home, next it was feet up for tonight's The Chase, followed with a couple of films on the TMN channel, Steve from the UK called for a quick chat then for us we were of to bed.

We Were Off Early,

to go fishing,

to the Mamak fishing park, with Nick and Maureen, it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sumkivitt, over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it you will see the road the fishing park is on the right hand side, follow that for a while, it twists and turns a bit and the fishing park is on the left next to a soccer ground, there are rods and tackle for hire and bait to buy, plus a fridge full of beer!,

a few clouds in the sky,

with no signs of rain clouds,

but from a few miles away came the ominous sound of thunder,

looking in the same direction as the last picture this bird had made it's home in the top of a now dead coconut palm,

one of the many dragonflies used a plant below us to look out for prey,

alarmingly the thunder was getting nearer, but the rain held off,

the dragonfly changed tactics and used Nick's float as it's base of operations,

then I was into a fish,

 a real rod bender,

with Nick's help he was in the bag,

and a nice sized one he was too,

but regrettably he was one of the fish that give a good fight, but are so full of small bones they are not very pleasant to eat, so back he went, that i am afraid to say was how the day ended 1-0 to me, but is was still so nice sitting and chatting by the water,

this is the parks card with their map on it if you fancy a day fishing,

 next stop Nick and Maureen's,

 the pool looking so inviting,

but we decided not to have a splash,

but just a have a quick pose beside it,

the trees outside their house at the moment are putting out masses of flowers,

in the brightest scarlet red, the trees look stunning,

we sat opposite the pump house for the pool,

when I noticed a small head peeking out from under the roof tiles,

one of the family of geckos that live there, but he would not come out for a photo shoot,

Maureen had made a delicious roast for this evening, followed by cheese and biscuits,

then it was Nick's turn in the kitchen,

using a section of fruit berries instead of strawberries,

 and some Cointreau,

he was going to make us a Eton mess,

Diana took these pictures, but as I know nothing about cooking all I can say is that some mixing is going on here,

 which somehow resulted in this,

 a meringue,

to which Nick then added cream and other goodies,

which looked,

and tasted delicious, we then moved on to Monopoly, where things got serious, I had brought along our new personalized Monopoly board and everything was going along swimmingly, except that for some reason  everyone when they drew a 'Chance' card would end on a brewery, so the owner of the four breweries got rich very quickly and won the game, after the game ended we had a count up of the cards with brewery on them in the 'Chance' pile, I had mistakenly print 6 extra 'go to the nearest brewery, cards so that explained it, did I mention I owned the four breweries? well that took some explaining! but we all had a great laugh, we thanked Nick and Maureen for a wonderful meal and made a move for home, a quick look at a film on TMN and we were off to bed.
