We Started The Day,

at Beckenham Junction,

 we were going to London,

 passing the Millwall Football Club,

and Docklands in the distance on the way,

we soon arrived at London Bridge,

and the Shard,

 towering over us,

one day we must stay there,

a short walk and we arrived at Borough Market,

passing one of the hairdressing saloons,

 and we were in,

the entrance we took brought us to the outdoor food part of the market,

so a quick look at some of the food on offer,

we thought about an Indian, decision to be made later,

 passing the porcelain stall,

 I just had to stop,

 and take a few photographs,

 they all looked so lovely,

for some reason today the market was packed,

for this couple the agony of choice!

we made our way past one of the fresh fish stalls,

 next dried fruit,

 and colored carrots,

as we neared the paella stall we knew we were getting close,

 and here it is,

 breakfast,

 well it was for me,

 a tub of whelks,

meanwhile Diana had bought a plate of chicken and prawn paella,

we stopped by the fish stall to eat, as we were eating we were both amazed at the queue for fresh oysters opposite us, people were being served quick enough but the queue never seemed to get smaller,

first part of breakfast over we carried on looking around, lots of fresh fruit juice,

 and plenty of cheese,

 and cakes,

 breakfast part 2,

 a sausage roll,

and there were plenty of them,

 and these looked nice,

so a Boston bun it was then,

 three sausages, onions and mustard,

but first the roll, all so delicious, it must eating outside that makes food taste better,

another look at some of the stalls,

the big cheese, well lots of them,

 these from France,

the queue for this shop going across the street, as I said today was really crowded,

looking finished, we made a move for the pub we normally have a sit in, when I noticed this building front, the business, W.H. and H. Le May selling hop factors, one of the many hop selling businesses in the area back in the 1900s and before,

 like this one,

the business dating back to 1542,

The George, the building itself built in 1676,

 from it's courtyard the Shard,

the pub has a ground and two floors

we continued to our usual haunt,

 'Cheers!',

 back to London Bridge station,

 for the train to Croydon,

from the station at East Croydon,

the tall towers stick out from the rest of the skyline,

we split up, Diana went shopping for shoes, I went to the open market,

which to day was not there,

next a walk along the High Street,

at the end of which we caught a tram back to Beckenham, where after our evening meal it was feet up for a few quiz shows, a couple from Poirot and we were off to bed.
