Wardens slap fine on hearse,

I wonder if one of their relatives was inside? A FUNERAL home boss yesterday slammed traffic wardens who slapped a parking ticket on his hearse – while a body and coffin were inside. David Dodson copped a £35 fine after he left the vehicle in a bay outside his business while unloading another corpse.

The zone has double yellow lines but his hearses occasionally use it. David, 56, contested the fine but failed. He said of the incident in Newquay, Cornwall: “The car had a coffin inside it. You’d think it’s a sensitive area but they obviously don’t care. “I’d accept it if the law was the same for all but when the mayor was here the wardens walked by.” Restormel council said: “Any vehicle in contravention may be ticketed.”
