Jil and Epril's wedding

we arrive at Basamangas falls,

curtsy mini bus from Cagayan De Oro, view of the hotel with the restaurant on the left,

our room, 1 st. floor lounge,

another view of the lounge,

Eric and Bob leaving the hotel for a walk around,

the swimming pool,

another view of the pool, this resort was surprisingly busy with swimmers relaxing for the day, what seemed strange was that there seem to be a perfectly serviceable beach just a short walk away,

what was nice and some thing I had not seen before was that plants were used to form a natural canopy from the sun,

the roots that hang down from the plants do not grow in soil but are collected into bundles under the canopy,

first a walk to the top of the resort,

nice views of mango trees and jungle,

at the top of the resort over looking the bay,

then down to the huts by the waterfall,

water is taken from further upstream where it is a bit cleaner and by gravity fills the pool up, then over flows into the river,

first things first, Epril and Diana secure the vodka!

the Bar-B-Q arrives,

a fresh roasted suckling pig with lemon grass stuffing and of course rice vegetables and noodles,

everybody tucks in,

whilst eating this chap made numerous treks into the jungle bring out fresh bamboo shoots and coconuts from the jungle,

a few rules of swimming etiquette,

three quarters of the way up the hill a fish pond with some Koi carp, Koi is the Japanese word for carp, so when you say Koi carp you are really saying carp carp,

it would be nice to think that these youngsters looking at the pool will start to keep fish as I did when I was 7 years old, at senior school when school had finished masters would stay after time at school, we had a stamp club and clubs for playing chess, wood and metal work groups, arts and crafts, astronomy for older students but later at night, master would give their time willingly, and when I was 13 I founded a club for fish keeping, at this time I was already working as a "Saturday Boy" at the local tropical fish shop, but I think they will be in their lonely rooms playing anonymous games with anonymous people,

Jil and Epril in the hut at the waterfall,

then a wash and shower and back to the bar for cocktails and our evening meal,

a few pre meal drinks,

our service ladies for the evening,

the food has arrived with Gil, Epril, Neal and Susan,

from the other end of the table,

us enjoying our meal,

Eric making sure the Vodka did not get to far away!

after dinner all of the ladies had a chat, well tomorrow is the big day so a good nights sleep is in order.
