Mick And Mas Had Never Been To Nong Nouch Gardens Before,

we set off along the Sumkivit highway for a visit, first stop the elephant house, I must say the care lavished on the elephants was appreciated by them,
they all looked well cared for,
and enjoyed the water,
just past the elephant house there are a series of large aquariums, Mick and Mas pose by the tanks,
and we had to have our picture taken as well!
a giant red tailed catfish says Hi!
some of the tanks were almost over stocked!
in this area there were lots of food stalls,
even Indian food, 180 baht for a buffet,
this is a huge sculptor of corn cobs, the surprise is that it is not eaten by rats or birds,
Diana poses by a mask,
and fountain,
there is a museum that you can look around for free, although it was 400 baht entrance fee to the park, but that did include a culture and elephant show,
inside the museum,
the girls in front of the altar,
the gardens are beautifully maintained,
everything is spotless and clean,
and green, all the time we were there ground staff were watering the plants where automatic sprinklers were not installed,
in one area there was a definite "ant" theme, they were every where,
in all shapes, sizes and colours,
looking down on some of the ants,
and more of them,
some were super sized so you could have your picture taken on them,
view point for the lake,
not that you could see much of it, last time we were here the lake did indeed look beautiful, but now it is just a mess of concrete and steel,
on to the show, great costumes and stage sets,
and of course a Thai boxing match,
the stage changed for every presentation,
the costumes were very colorful.
in almost every colour,
then a drum number,
followed by some regional dancing,
I do not know what this one is called, the trick is not to get your feet caught between the bamboo poles as they are brought together in tempo with the music,
then the fight sequence, this is supposed to be Thailand beating Burma in a long a go battle, a great show with so much colour, if you have not been there it is well worth a visit.
