Good News For Jim!

CSP Withdraws Ticket Issued To Injured Good Samaritan, from Channel 7 Denver News, DENVER -- The Colorado State Patrol has withdrawn the jaywalking ticket issued to a Good Samaritan who was seriously injured by a pickup truck after he pushed three people out of its path. Bus driver Jim Moffett, of Denver, and a male passenger were helping two elderly female passengers cross a busy Denver street in a snowstorm when a pickup truck trying to turn struck him. The two women and the other Good Samaritan were not hurt in the Feb. 20 crash but 58-year-old Moffett suffered bleeding in the brain, broken bones, a dislocated shoulder and a possible ruptured spleen. Moffett, the other Good Samaritan and one of the women were cited for jaywalking, a ticket that costs $22. After "re-examining the investigation" and reviewing the tickets with prosecutors, the CSP said it has decided not to cite the driver. "After examining the totality of the circumstances and upon consultation with the Adams County District Attorney's Office, the Colorado State Patrol has decided to withdraw the citations issued to the pedestrians, to include the one issued to the driver of the RTD bus," the CSP said in a news release Friday. I decided to do a search on the above article, Results 1 - 10 of about 533,000 for Injured Good Samaritan Ticketed For Jaywalking. (0.18 seconds) yes 553,000 pages on something that happened only last Friday? so I guess the "After examining the totality of the circumstances and upon consultation with the Adams County District Attorney's Office" statement had nothing to do with the world wide publicity this case received then!
