Keystone Cops Strike Again!
or how to put a spin on a total mess up!
Sir Paul Stephenson, the new head of Scotland Yard, joined 80 officers in a raid on a series of homes to break up a burglary ring, with the Met's helicopter hovering, Sir Paul's team smashed through one front door at 6.30am yesterday,
only one slight snag, the guy they were after had already been arrested!
'This was all about catching villains and making people feel safer in their homes, the operation was very professional, the suspect was not there but that's the nature of police work.' Sir Paul said the public felt the police had 'withdrawn from them' and he wanted to 'maximise our presence on the streets', so taking 80 officers of the street then was a good decision? in cases like this and I have read about a good number of them, why is the house not put under surveillance and the raid made to coincided when the villain is there, I know it would be difficult to raise 80 police and a helicopter at the drop of a hat, but 80 officers to arrest one guy with no evidence of him being armed?
