Off To Friendship For Some Shopping,

then spend a few more hours on the railway,
I decided to make a start on the front of the base board, so using crumpled news paper,
I then covered it with plaster bandages, to give the look of terrain,
then a coat of plaster mixed with water, it will need another coat tomorrow when it has dried, looking along the left side,
meanwhile Diana was painting a 5 engine round house, the roof has not been made yet, that will go on once the engine shed is fixed to the base board and the track inside it laid,
the girders are being give a "rusted" look, the walk ways made to look a bit grimy,
at the end of the day I was a bit hot and sticky!
connection at last! the day before Diana tried to see her family in the Philippines but for us no Internet connection from midday till we went out at 7.15, but today success, all of the family were there in Diana's parents house, strange the Internet out there is so fast, but over here it is so slow or as was the day before nonexistent, 2,000 baht a month for my own satellite at an alleged 256 kit-cats per crocodile, and never knowing if it will work or not!
then it was feet up and watch some TV first the last of the House of Cards trilogy The Final Cut we watched the first half, the rest I guess tonight, after a delicious meal that Diana cooked of fish and chips Mark called round for a cup of tea and a chat, after he left we continued watching, next up one of my science fiction black and white movies, The Day The Earth Stood Still, not the one made recently but the original made in 1951, then late into the night, well early in to the morning, A Man For All Seasons, from the Tudor period yet another take on the problems of Henry V111 trying to marry Ann Boleyn, but this time from the perspective of Sir Thomas More (1478-1535), then off to bed.

  1. Hi Stan,

For your information, the new series of 'The Tudors' is being shown on UK BBC TV, starting next week.

Looks good from what I have seen of the trailers.

  2. Dear Anonymous, thanks for the heads up, I had read a third series was in the making, we still have not gotten around to seeing all of the first two but I will be looking out for the third series with a view to purchase it when it is available on DVD, just as an aside we were reading about Henry V111 on the net, I did not know that in his reign he had over 72,000 of his subjects put to death! and there was me thinking he was an enlighten monarch, but with out him at that time we would not have had a navy, so in one sense he at least was a forward thinker, best regards, Stan and Diana.
