Do Not Mess With Fish 81!

and you thought fish were fun! well not really a fish but here is one lobster that is not for the pot, Simon Sharp hauled this monster catch in whilst fishing off of the coast of Dartmouth in Devon with his wife Lizzy, the creature measured over 1 meter long also had claws measuring 14 inches long and eight inches wide, but the record for the largest lobster could not be confirmed, Simon said: "It was a great big barnacled old thing but it looked very old and sluggish so we decided it had to go back in quickly, it was no good for eating — it would be as tough as old boots — and we didn't want to stockpot it either, so he put it back, a spokeswoman for the Marine Conservation Society said: "This is a massive lobster and one of this size is likely to be well over a century old, it has probably just found a really good sheltered spot in the estuary and kept going, it's definitely the biggest one we've heard of in this country, if not further afield" the good news also for large lobsters is that when they reach a certain size they can no longer go inside the lobster pot so there is no danger of them being caught, as an aside many years ago a few of us went on a fishing holiday on a house boat in Salcome, David bought along a collapsible lobster pot, made by the Leaky Boat Company, I do not know if this is the same company but here is a link to Leaky Boats.
