It Was Time For My 90 Day Check-In,

the Immigration Office is in Soi 5 Jomtien,
next to it is this construction site,
I had thought by now it would have been finished, but not quite yet, the procedure for those on a retirement visa is that every 90 days you have yo go in pereson to fill in a form, name, date of birth, passport number, address, etc, if all is in order another 90 days is given, the surprise for me is that I got a ticket from the machine but there was no one in front of me, in and out in under 40 seconds!
in the afternoon we meet up with Nick and Maureen at Charlie's fishing park, Nick relaxing with a beer,
and I am into the first fish of the day, a real rod bender!
but it got away, it was huge I tell you!
notice the fishing shirt,
how to look an idiot in one easy lesson, let Diana put a cold towel on my head,
Ta-Taa was enjoying the day out as well,
it looks bright but there is a rain cloud moving in,
then the first catch of the day,
small and full of bones so back it went,
we think new owners have taken over, the reason is that new chairs and loungers are appearing around the lake,
now this is Diana's idea of fishing, a lounger to sleep on,
by now the rain had just started , what we thought would be a light shower turned out to be a real downpour, most unusual out here for December,
after fishing we went back to Nick and Maureen's for a bite to eat, disappointingly we did not catch any for the pot, but it was still a most enjoyable way to spend the day, who was there to greet us? none other than Santa Claus himself,
and a really nice Christmas tree,
Nick and Maureen had bought some Poinsettia's for their house and garden, very nice they looked to, Maureen had very kindly made a chicken casserole for us all, just what we needed after a hard days fishing
then back to 388 feet up and watch TV, tomorrow it is going to be a busy day, buy the turkey and wine for Christmas, pop round to see a few friends, then the big one, the gold shop, a Christmas present for Diana, then to the Friday night market, so my wallet is going to need a good nights rest!
