HAPPY NEW YEAR!

well it was for us,

Nick and Maureen called round on New Years Eve,

so it was off to Dang's bar, it is on the corner of Soi Diamond and Walking Street,

I bumped into a new best friend! Diana had not eaten before we left, so a visit to the food stalls was in order,

as we were sitting there Dang, the owner arrived,

a couple of Dang's staff were already in holiday mode,

across the road a last minuet sign was being put up, it does not look to dangerous, but the ladder is about 12 feet tall, to scary for me!

then the pizza stall opened,

yummy!

Mike and Riza then arrived, the party was getting into full swing!

"Cheers!" from all of us,

next Big Jim called by,

more tables and chairs needed!

Mike and Riza,

Walking Street was by now filling up, not as busy as 5 or 6 years ago or more, but still a lot of people,

as the hours went more people than ever were walking,

then with a clash of drums and cymbals a Chinese New Year dragon made an appearance,

then at the magic hour we went into Walking Street to watch the fireworks and welcome the New Year in,

we all got covered with canned 'snow'

I tried to take a couple of pictures of the fireworks, but by now my hand/eye coordination was totally impaired!

now after 12 it was time for some bubbly to welcome the New Year in,

Dang chilling the second bottle,

Nick opened the first,

whilst I tried to open the second,

success at last as the cork is about to pop,

"Cheers!"

everybody was in party mode,

"Cheers!" from Mike and Riza,

and a good start to 2010 for both of us,

some of Dang's staff in full party mode,

I hope everyone had as good a start to 2010 as we did, as I am typing this I have a hangover as you might think, but it was worth it!

home at last, feet up, next on the list a good nights sleep, once again Happy New Year to everyone!
