A Few Friends Are Arriving From England

and Steve asked if next time we went to Lukdod I could buy him a few pairs of glasses, and give them to Mahendra to bring back for him, so it was to Luckdod we went, but what a change, the normally full of coaches car park was empty,
as was the bike park, only about 8 bikes were there,
the place was deserted, so I guess the tourist season is now over, but the export market seems quiet bust, every where I looked there were labels on statues saying 20 pieces for Germany,
a new shop opening up maybe?
Justice is blind,
Diana at the front door, the place is deceptive, inside it is huge, so in we went and out we came as quick as that, they had sold out of the glasses in a case with a pen, so we will look again next week, then on to our other port of call,
past the Batman disco, in all of the time I have been past it I have never found out why it failed, some one must have spent a fortune setting it up,
we were on our way to Jimbo's, the place is run by Gary and makes in my opinion the nicest sausages in Pattaya,
it is off of Pattaya Thai, take Soi 2 and follow it round past the disco towards Sumkivitt, about 50 meters before you hit Sumkivitt Jimbos is on the right,
the view from Jimbos looking towards the disco,
home with the sausages safe and sound,
Oh No! I am starting on the trains again, Diana wanted to help so I showed her where I wanted to put some trees on the layout,
so Diana after reading the instructions started on the tree making detail,
first off of the production line,
meanwhile I was adding some 'bushes' to the ground cover,
just the other side of the goods yard,
Diana decided to check that I was making a good job of it,
the first few trees glued in place, the glue will dry clear, also I will put a few small clumps of undergrowth around the trunks if the glue dries to shinny,
also I had to straighten them up a little,
for me they are starting to look good, well done Diana!
next batch of trees on the way,
the trees are made of a dried plant called seamoss from Holland,
and this is how it arrives, called ' Jumbo Forest In A Flash' it comes from a company called International Models based in Wales, their web site is being updated, but should be finished soon,
Diana with two more trees,
and me sticking them in place,
I used some of the track pins to hold the trees in place till the glue dries,
Diana at the tree production line, the trees are wetted then suspended with a paper clip on the other end to straighten them out,
like so, Diana is getting so good at making trees, next she will be teaching Slartibartfast how to make Fjords!
two track pins keeping a tree in place,
an ariel view of the growing 'forest',
still a lot more trees to go though,
above the tunnel entrance it is starting to look as I had imagined it,
there are lots of small pieces of seamoss left in a box so we are using them as small bushes in the goods yard,
after more than a few hours upstairs it was time to hit the town,
it was a little quiet in Walking Street, but there were still a number of tour groups around, first stop Carousel then on to Sweethearts, it was our night for bumping into friends, whilst there with Grieg who should walk in but Joe and Andy knowing that we would be there, so more than a few drinks flowed as we caught up with what everyone was doing,
we then went along the street to see Juu at Champions, you may remember a Internet shop next to the entrance, well that has gone and has been replaced by a staircase leading to a new go-go called Powers, I am not sure if it is Austin or not! any way on to see Juu and who should be there but UK Steve who now lives in Australia, so again a catch up time on what he and we were doing, then a motorcycle friend Marcel arrived with some of his friends,
Diana decided to have a Kahlua which is from Mexico, (if you want to be really Mexican try a Kahlua Cockroach, 1 Part of Kahlua, 1.5 Parts Tequila, this drink combines the two great Mexican classics of Tequila and Kahlua, pour the Tequila and Kahlua into a glass, and (optionally) set on fire with a lighter, if you light it, pop a straw in the glass and drink! otherwise this can be enjoyed slowly, on its own or as an after dinner liqueur, the Tequila thins the texture of the Kahlua and gives it a little "bite" - excellent!),
she liked so much she had another one, then came over all tired about midnight, so for us it was home for bed, but for both of us it was a nice evening bumping into Joe, Andy, Steve and Marcel as we did, tomorrow more on the railways!
