Off To See The Wizard!

no not really off to see 3BB at Carrefore again,
it was so hot again today another 39C day,
when we arrived at 3BB Internet broadband who should we bump into? none other than Richard, Beth and their son James, they did not have the Internet services, but you can pay utility bills there as well, the lady again apologised for the technician not turning up again, but said he will be round the next day, so another day waiting for him to arrive, as for the guy wanting 700 baht she did not have a clue what that was about after spending some time on her computer, it was so hot on the way over we just had to have a Swensens ice cream and shake, we chatted about staying here all day as our place was so warm, but eventually made the move back to 388, I did a water change on the fish again, we watched a few DVD's all to soon it was time to go out, tonight we decided to have a romantic meal for two,
Diana decided to wear one of the dresses that I bought for her return to Thailand,
we hired one of the Secrets taxi's to take us to Ali Baba in Central Road,
the restaurant is upstairs, the decor depicting scenes from the 40 thieves, there is in fact a 40 thieves dish on the menu, the name Ali BaBa comes from The Arabian Nights translated by Sir Richard Burton in 1850, no not the one that married Elizabeth, this is the clever one,
most if not all Indian restaurants out here have little or no decor, but Ali Baba pushes the boat out on the decor front,
poppadoms, onions and onion bahjhi for starters, half each,
because we were also going to share a prawn puri half each,
I have to say the service here is spot on, so many times when trying to get a waiter/waitresses attention we just get the thousand yard stare as if we were not there, but here the waiters are there in a flash,
'Cheers!' as the main course arrives,
chicken tikka masala, chicken tikka, butter chicken with peas and pilou rice, 5 glasses of wine plus coke and water for Diana 1,760 baht, the food was excellent,
on the way downstairs to the taxi there was quite an updraft of wind, so we nearly had a Marilyn Monroe moment if you remember the photo from The Seven Year Itch,
then home to a beer in an authentic Indian beer glass, feet up to watch some more of The Brief, I mentioned before it was like Judge John Deed, but upon reflection I should have said New Street Law, so, after a couple of episodes it was off to bed.

  1. With all due respect these pictures of your other half finally did her justice. She looked stunning.

  2. Dear John, many thanks for your kind comment, I am sure it will make Diana’s day when she reads it, all I do is just point the camera and press the button, but better than Diana's looks is that she is so nice, best regards, Stan and Diana.
