this time Shrek 3,
down again to the hell hole known as the motorcycle bike park under Central Festival, the good news was that when we returned to the bike was were not blocked in by other bikes and we got out easily, a first for Central!
but now up to the cinema, first a few pop corns and a coke, as luck had it the show started just five minutes after we arrived, this is the second 3D movie we have seen, Shrek the Third, I have too admit not anywhere near as impressive as Avatar, I almost think that both were shot using two different systems, is that possible? anyone know?
then to the highlight of the afternoon, the 4D theater,
there were 10 films advertised but a few were yet to be released, we went for the sonic race, last time we went here we could choose what we wanted to watch and walk straight in, but now they have a time table, to say it was great fun is the understatement of the year,
after just a few seconds both Diana and myself could not stop laughing, the race consisted of flying round mountains and valleys at breakneck speed, being thrown from one side of the chair to another, it is worth getting a burnt leg in the motorcycle park for this ride alone,
going back to 3D for a moment, we did stop at the Samsung shop in Festival, the 3D LED television they had there, note LED not LCD, (have a look here for a earlier post about the difference), gave a much better 3D performance than the Shrek 3 3D movie at the theater, of course I suspect it is a factory enhanced disc, but the 3D effect was much more impressive in the shop, also unlike the Sony you get 2 sets of glasses not one, at £100+ each the Sony does not look that cheap anymore, but then the system on display was 149,970 baht so I guess an extra 5,000 baht or so for a extra pair of glasses is not going to break the bank!
whilst looking around we also came across this dog accessory shop, with helmets and boots for them, Ah!
then to the Tuk Com center the new Blu-Ray machine we had bought needed a LAN cable connection,
so I bought a splitter and two cables, one for the Sony and one for the Toshiba, tomorrow it will be out with the manuals to see how to set up players to receive a signal, help B2! I got that before I have to call him!
for tonight it was the soup stall, still at 30 baht each for chicken soup,
Diana then wanted some Thai food for a late night snack,
then feet up for a Blu-Ray movie, The Scorpion King 2, Rise of a Warrior, if you enjoyed the previous The Scorpion King 1, or perhaps in the same vein The Mummy 1 & 2, this will be a great disappointment, well it was for us, I have to say do not even waste a £1.00 to hire it!
moving on, Steve Martin is his usual self in The Jerk, I find that I either like comedians or can not stand them or their humour/films they are in, for me Steve Martin is brilliant, for Diana as well, she laughed all the way through the movie, then one episode of Cadfael, Monk's Hood, when an unpleasant and cruel nobleman spites his stepson by ceding his estate to the abbey, he ends up being poisoned by one of Brother Cadfael's medications, there is one character in this series that Diana has taken an instant dislike to, Brother Jerome, every time his spying and plans are thwarted Diana comes out with a 'nah-nah a nah-nah', it is so funny to hear, one more episode of The Tudors, then off to bed.

Dulcify
Dear Dulcify, many thanks for your kind offer, the good news is that one of my friends out here is downloading it as we speak, he has a super fast connection, but once again many thanks for your kind offer, also for the British Pathe website, you may have seen on an earlier blog I have 10 DVDs from Gaumont taken over the last centaury, but of course they have a lot more footage in France than the UK, but having said that there is a huge amount of film that they never showed in the UK, which makes watching them so interesting, best regards, Stan and Diana.
