At Lunch Today We Were Off To MK Restaurant,

above Tesco Lotus on the corner of Thepprasit and Sukumvit,

so park up the bike in the bike park and in we go,

if you have never been to an MK resturaunt I would suggest you give it a try,
we were dining with Juu and his wife as it was her birthday, the food we ordered was slices of roast pork and duck, on the left, the big red thing on the right in the center of the table contains water which is boiling, it always makes me feel a little uneasy when I see the pans of boiling oil cooking food in the market, the thought of this boiling water tipping over and landing in my lap had the same effect, but it appears that it is all safe,
next thing to do is to decide what to add to the water, shrimps, squid, soya, noodles, fish cakes, etc, each item arrives in its own red tray,
then tray by tray put them in the water,
one on top of the other,
add some vegetables, some of those long thin mushrooms, put the lid on and let it all steam/boil, just before serving add two fresh eggs, mix a little then enjoy!
Diana certainly did!
more please! a great way to spend a few hours,
then a little bit of shopping on our way back home, in time to shower and change for the evening,
it was a farewell party for Willie at Margaritavilla, on Soi Rungland off Pattaya Tai,
all of the usual suspects were there, I won't mention names to protect the guilty! Willie put on lashings of food, with pizza's arriving through out the evening,
all of his family had called in to wish him Bon Voyage,
Willie and Alex, safe trip to Willie and we are all looking forward to seeing you back soon,
meanwhile indoors a friendly game of dominoes was taking place, all too soon it was time for us to bid our farewells so back to 388,
in case you want to call in above is a map of where Margaritavilla is, drinks are all 50 baht or there abouts, pool table inside and a very friendly atmosphere, so home feet up for another episode of Kavanagh QC, The Burning Deck, Kavanagh defends Lt. Ralph Kinross RN accused of starting a fire in a barracks, his co-accused is Jones, a childhood friend who is a sailor in the same unit, who had loaned money to the sailor whose bed was set on fire, as the blurb says, 'they both did it, one of them did it or neither of them did it', but which? the good news was that I guessed who had done what before the episode ended so it was a pretty straight forward plot, then off to bed.

  1. Hi Stan & Diana, quality blog as ever.

I love MK restuarants, and would love to see the idea of 'cooking' at the table, here in the uk.

Tell me though, Stan, is the 99b bufett restuarant on second road still in exisitence? Haven't heard you mention it in your blog in a while.

  2. Dear Anonymous, I have a nasty feeling that having a bowl of boiling hot water would be a no-no in the UK, imagine if a kid pulled the bowl over, ouch! I am not sure if it has happened here, but if it did I guess no one would get sued, the 99 baht Sunday lunch has gone I am afraid, but it has opened up at the bottom of I think Soi Post office, for 100 baht extra the Robin's Nest is where we now go if we are not out and about, best regards, Stan and Diana.
