Going Fishing,

so first stop some bait,
this is the shop I now use, it is on Thepprisit Road on the same side as the two petrol stations,
I did often go to the one off of Pattaya Tai, but so often they did not have any bait in stock, so far for every trip out this one has,

we went to the usual fishing park but it was closed, whether for a staff holiday or for good we had no idea, so we made a move to one we had not been to before, Sun Day fishing park, go over the railway tracks on Soi Siam Country Club after the mosques there is a blue sign with red writing turn left, take the left hand fork go past the hotel sharp right, (straight on you end up in a field, 4 wheel drive jobbie to get out), past the end of the hotel, turn right through the gates into a front yard then park,

phew! made it! first of the day,

the park kept a few fish in a concrete vat to show what fish were in the lake, we decided against walking to one of the fishing stations on the lake, there were 3 or 4 places to sit on the walk way, the view looking straight across the lake,
with a cattle farm in the distance,
then Nick had the first bite of the day and what a bite, one moment all was peace and quite, the next and his fishing rod was half way across the lake! but all was not lost, the lake owner had a grappling hook,
on the second throw the line was snagged and his rod retrieved,
the good news was that the fish was still on and was quickly brought to the bank, unfortunately it was one of the fish that was not nice to eat so back he went,
on the downside there was no kitchen at this park, so we had a quick trip to the local shop for some food for Diana,
I took a few pictures of the shop at the lake,
the pictures show what fish you can expect to catch and how much per kilo if you want to take them home,
one of the ex inhabitants, the head of a blah chon, (spelt as it sounds), the Thai equivalent of a European pike,
then Nick was into a second fish,
that put up a real good fight,
it was so big it broke the head of my landing net, something else I will have to buy on my next trip to the UK,
then I was into one,
a nice sized catfish,
we then had a phone call from Geoff who arrived with Fe and Samuel, they will soon be going to the UK for a holiday,
next the ice cream man called by,
ice cream, yummy! then time to go, score Nick 2, with me second on 1, we all commented how nice the new place was and decided to fish here again, but knowing there is not a restaurant we will bring a few nibbles to save having to drive out to the main road again,
whilst looking for the owner to pay the bill I noticed this cat with different coloured eyes, I had never seen one with this much colour difference before,
then back to Nick and Maureen's for our evening meal,
Diana relaxes by the pool, the coconuts in the background are Diana's favorite,
Nick had cut one down and made a hole for the straw,
then a delicious chicken casserole,
with cheese, biscuits, radishes and celery to finish the meal off,
and a chocolate magum for Diana,
then just as we were about leave the pool room gecko popped out to say bye, a lovely day where we put the world to rights and a delicious meal to round the day off, many thanks to Nick and Maureen, then home to 388 for a episode of Kavanagh QC, Job Satisfaction, Sam and Caroline Wicks, a brother and sister, are charged with killing their father and step-mother, from which they gain financially, I seem to remember something like this happening in real life where two brothers did the same thing, unsettling viewing, then off to bed.
