I Was Going To Continue With The Railway,

but Diana said that we were going over to see Mike and Riza, so off we went, as soon as we arrived the girls were off to the market for food, when they came back I could not help thinking 'Pattaya's answer to the Hells Angels!', Mike was his usual jovial self, we spent the afternoon chatting and drinking a 50/50 mix of beer and sprite, then home for our evening meal ham and salami salad with a nice load of beetroot, which I read about today can dramatically lower the risk of heart disease and strokes, having said that the BBC ran the story in February 2008, later in the evening Mike and Riza called by and we were off to the Wild West Saloon, it is in the new bar complex at the top of Soi 5 Jomtien on the other side of the new road,
we were a bit early, also most of the Filipino band were on a visa run, so just one guy on the organ and two lady singers,
the two girls gave a really good performance and a an added bonus were both in time with the music,
Mike and Riza,
Diana and myself,
whilst sitting there this lady brought around one of those dancing novelty toys,
then one of the singers Maricel called over to say hi,
and Bong the musician,
and Angel the other singer called over,
then back on stage for the next number,
Mike's camera went in to sleep mode for a time,
it must have been because Elvis was in the building!
although still early everyone was in party mode, there are mainly Filipinos with their boyfriends in the bar but everyone was made very welcome, we are looking forward to seeing the whole band next week when the visa run is over,
Mike then had a phone call, it was Willie's birthday, so a quick decamp to Margeritavile, it is in the same soi as the gold bank opposite the telephone exchange on Pattaya Tai, just look for the parrot outside,
birthday boy Willie,
the parrot, not easy to miss,
and of course the birthday cake,
one, two, three, blow!
Jean was in real party mode,
as we all were, there was plenty of food laid on and of course by now everyone had more than a few drinks,
Willie of course was the center of attention,
but everyone seemed in party mode,
whose a happy boy then!
Ricky was also at the party,
she just had to get in the picture!
I am not quite sure what Mike is doing here,
Ricky is all smiles,
as is Da and Mike,
ah!
well it is his birthday,
meanwhile the other girls were inside having a game of domino's,
then Ron, also from the Philippines called over to join us, then it was time to leave, we all had a truly great time at the Wild West Saloon and the birthday party was a real treat,
next back to 388 to pick up some plastic and glass bottles, a nightcap and off to bed.

  1. All my old friends! Stan: It was through all those people that I got to know you... and you got to know Mike and Riza.

About 7 years ago, I had a girlfriend, Diaw, who knew some girl who worked next door to Rick's bar... which was also Gene's and Willie's bar at the time.

So first I met Rick, Willie, and Gene. Then, I met Mike and Riza... and Bob whose first restaurant location ever was down the street from Rick's bar. Through Bob, I then met Steve B. Then through Steve, I met you. Then through me, you met Mike and Riza... and now the rest of my old friends too.

  2. Dear Jil, yes it is strange how everybody meets friends, all of the 'old' crowd still go there plus a few new faces, best regards, Stan and Diana.
