A Quiet Day For Us,

we did not even go out, with rain clouds threatening we stayed indoors and watched a few DVD's plus played a few hands of cribbage, the firsts DVD was Schama's A History of Britain, we watched all of the chapters above,

Britannia Incorporated Emerging from the loathing the English and Scots had for each other was a future based together on profit and interest.

The Wrong Empire Exploration and exploitation as Britain makes its mark on the world.

Forces of Nature Britain comes close to its own revolution and the beginnings of the romantics era.

a great series, I remember thinking it was a tad expensive at around £40.00, but having watched 3 of the DVD's I have to say it was worth every penny, even better now it is about £20.00 for all 6 DVD's if you look around,
On Her Majesty's Secret Service I have to say is the worst of all of the Bond's we have watched, we were both totally underwhelmed when the DVD had finished, so to make up for it we watched another one!
Casino Royale was more like it, we had watched it in the UK with Steve and Kai, but it was well worth watching again, the beginning sequence with a chase through a building site up cranes and across roof tops was particularly unnerving for me, being scarred of heights, great film and nearly all action! then to a more genteel time as the evening wore on, Poirot, The Dream, Hercule Poirot is puzzled when Benedict Farley summons him to a late night meeting, Farley is known as the king of pies as his company manufactures a well-known brand of meat pies, at their meeting, he tells Poirot of a recurring dream where he takes a gun from his desk drawer, walks to his office window and commits suicide, imagine the reaction, when next day he does just that! then off to bed.
