Another One Of Those 'If Only' Stories,

printed just a few years ago in 1997, this first edition"Harry Potter and the Philosopher's (Sorcerer's) Stone" is valued now at about £6,000, it appears that only 500 or so were produced with a laminated pictorial boards that are not bound in cloth and feature a shiny cover are very valuable, two people obviously knew this when they went to an gallery in Woodstock, Oxfordshire, last month, they stole it where one copy was on display!

an employee at the gallery was dealing with a group of people at the time of the snatch, while she was distracted, a man who was not with the group took the book from under an unsecured glass display box, during the theft, a woman allegedly acted as look out.

PC Geoffrey Allen, of Thames Valley Police, said: "I believe this was an opportunist crime and the offenders took advantage of the gallery assistant being occupied by a group of people" just think printed just 13 years ago, bought for I guess a few pounds now £6,000 a copy, if only I had known! by the way if you think you have an original have a look here to confirm it.
