Just As I Finished The Blog,

Mr. Tony called round, for a cup of tea and a chat, he had seen my birthday present to myself from last year and wanted another look at it, it was an A. Lange & Soehen Datograph, so after a few more cups of tea, we were off to the Soi Bukaow market, but first a quick call into the 7-11 to pay the water bill, just under £3.00 a month,
one thing I have noticed as we went to the market is that so many street corners have these signs on them now,
it implies that you can turn left when the lights are at red, but I have been told in Thia it means you can not turn left at red, I will have to ask a native Thai speaker some time soon,
Nick and Maureen wanted some sunflower seeds, but are reluctant to go to the market with Ta-Taa as there are so many stray dogs around, so we bought some there, only 20 baht for 10 seeds,
I then looked opposite on the animal food stall, they were selling packs of sunflower seeds as parrot and bird food for 25 baht a half kilo, D'Oh!
my wardrobe has yet again developed the habit of shrinking my clothes, so Diana bought me a couple of pairs of 38" waist shorts,
some garlic for the evenings meal, then feet up for another round of Monopoly, (if I do not win soon we will go back to playing cribbage, Diana is just to good!),
we then had a horror evening, first up, House on Haunted Hill, the 1999 version, an eccentric millionaire offer a group of opposites $1,000,000 to spend the night in a so called "Haunted House" with a murderous past, Dr. Benjamin Vannacutt almost steals the movie although he is not seen in much it, surprised to say that he, his sanatorium and experiments appear to have some bases in truth!
then to the black and white box! Creature from the Black Lagoon, 1954 and looking it, supposedly taking place in the Amazon river the fish filmed in the underwater sequences, primarily alligator gars, are not a native of the Amazon! a scientific expedition searching for fossils along the Amazon River discover a prehistoric Gill-Man in the legendary Black Lagoon, the explorers capture the mysterious creature, but it breaks free, then in 1950's fashion the creature is from memory, speared twice, shot 3 times, drugged twice, hit over the head when it was on the ground with a rifle butt and set ablaze, strangely enough it then died!
then Invasion of the Body Snatchers, 1956 version, I did say from the black and white box, well this comes with a choice of the original black and white or a colorized version, the black & white's running time is 1hr and 20 mins while the color version has an added five minutes to its running time, a small-town doctor learns that the population of his community is being replaced by emotionless alien duplicates, but who will believe him?
The Thing from Another World, 1951, well I do like old movies, scientist at an Arctic research station discover a spacecraft buried in the ice, upon closer examination, they discover the frozen pilot, all hell breaks loose when they take him back to their station and he is accidentally thawed out! then a Poirot or two, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, recovering from the horrors of World War I, British Army officer Arthur Hastings hopes to find peace and quiet at a country manor in the English countryside, but when the matriarch dies during the night from strychnine poisoning, his peace and quiet are ruined, then a final Poirot for the evening, The Million Dollar Bond Robbery, The London & Scottish Bank is investing in America and is transferring $1 million in liberty bonds to the U.S. to do so, but when Mr. Shaw, the bank officer who is supposed to go on the Queen Mary's maiden voyage to transfer the bonds is poisoned, the bank calls in Poirot to protect the bonds, a good twist in this episode then off to bed.
