but missed the start, not wanting to wait we might call back tomorrow,
but it did not stop us going to the XD theater, I was just glad we managed to get past all of the police stops on the way, we went through 3 or 4 gangs of police who were stopping as many as they could, Paul and myself talked about this on Saturday, only that morning he was stopped, I quote, 'where you from?' 'England' 'you rich, me poor policeman give me 400 baht' as I have said and so did he, if you are in the wrong, OK pay the fine, but he like me had all of the paperwork needed on him, it was just a scam, but we made it to the Central Festival car park, guess what? there was a policeman in the underground car park stopping bikes after you had picked up your ticket, 'D'Oh!'
this time it was Ocean Jungle, not as fast and furious as some of the high speed rides we had been on before, but really in your face when it came to the 3D effects coming out of the screen!
we then had to look at our dream television as we were in Central, but the Samsung shop had gone, it was closed for refurbishing, strange time to do it in the middle of high season, think how many expats have friends come over at this time of the year and show them around the malls, it had relocated to the food loft, so we went next door to have a look in another electrical store, Diana picked up this brochure, beautifully produced but even in Thai totally lacking in substance,
then down to the lower ground floor,
we were going to pick up some of those huge strawberries to snack on tonight,
all to soon it was along to the market for some chicken soup,
there were more than the usual number of stalls today,
some still to set up,
the soup stall we normally go to,
any second now and ours will be ready,
one of the police vans doing the rounds as we waited for our soup and yes there was a police patrol on the corner of Third Road and Soi 17, it must be Christmas, all those presents to buy!
then home, our evening meal and strawberries, then feet up and watch television, tonight the last part of The Tudors and the end of a great series,
next Hercule, Lord Edgware Dies, Lady Edgware, the well-known stage actress Jane Wilkinson, has a dilemma in that her husband has consistently refused to give her a divorce, a thoroughly unliked man every it seems has a reason to kill him, I guessed who it was almost straight away, but then he died half way through the film! so many twists and turns to this one but good neither the less, I forgot to mention yesterday that Diana had the shock of her life, literally, as she stood on the escalators at TukCom she received a mighty electrical shock, I guess one of the steps is live!
then back to the second series of Hill Street Blues, we enjoyed the first series so much, if this is a good as the first I will buy the third and fourth, next off to bed.
The shock will be static electricity and I worked in a factory once where a girl used to charge up with static (which did not hurt her) and then she used to tap people on the bum and discharge herself. That was one hell of a shock.
