but more of that later,
the stall holders opposite the bar were the the permanent ones, no one off stalls this week,
the pet/fish section,
at the end of the stalls I looked at the sky, it was getting really dark with rain clouds,
in both directions,
but the shoppers did not seem to notice,
Diana yet again did not find the pair of shoes she liked that she saw a few weeks ago,
by now Juu, Dang and Brian had arrived at the bar, then the rain started, so there we were, stuck in a beer bar till the rain stopped, what could be worse?
the rain finally stopped so the girls were off on a shopping fest,
coming back laden with goodies,
a slightly out of focus Diana makes the deal,
shopping done and home we go,
during the day we watched some of a eight-episode miniseries, which aired in 2009 on the History Channel, Expedition Africa, although individually I guess all of the four travellers are gifted, together they just grate on each other, they trek across Africa from Zanzibar to Ujiji, loosely following Stanley's footsteps, but from the start things go wrong, in the first day on land they become lost, also losing one of the team members, one of the guides and then realising they have no drinking water, (a recurring feature of this professional trip), but great fun to watch as bad planning pile upon mistake after mistake, after our evening meal Brian called round for a drink and a chat after he left we were off to bed.
Interesting that you kept four ferrets in the UK, Stan.
ReplyDeleteYou never used to let them loose in your trousers did you?
Seems incredible to believe, but back in the 70's in the UK, it was a familiar sight on TV to see a man drop ferrets down his trousers as a feat of daring. It was almost a sport. Very popular in the working mens clubs and on TV in those days.
Incredible!
Dear Mocha Joe, I have seen ferrets in trousers and decided to give that one a miss! but they do in many circumstances make good pets, for one thing they make their time clocks match yours, for instance when you wake up so do they, as you leave for work they go back to sleep and wake when you return from work in the evening, also they will be house trained in a day, once shown where to go to the toilet they will return to that spot every time, great pets, best regards, Stan and Diana.
