When I Was At Work In The Print Industry,

one day in mid winter the heating failed,

as the temperature dropped coats and hats (popular in those days) were donned, but eventually the FOC (Father of the Chapel), called a halt to work when it became too cold, there are various acts put in place to protect the health of workers from actions of unscrupulous or uncaring employers, but not so in Ansford Academy in Castle Cary, Somerset where without regard to the pupils health the school heating was turned off on one of the coldest days of the year, as students shivered Headmaster Rob Benzie said of the day, 'I considered the day a success', and indeed he is going to freeze the school kids again, the aim was to shut down the radiators as an experiment to show students how the school could cut its carbon footprint.

I must admit I would have thought that schools would have been covered by the same acts that protect workers in factories, but as Health & Safety and the police have taken no action against his behaviour it appears they do not, that being the case why not shut down the heating everyday? think how small the schools carbon footprint would be then!
