Our Masters In Brussels Are About To Tell The People Of The UK,

what to do again,

with the European Union splitting at the seams some dimwit has now decided that as well as banning incandescent light bulbs, all 12V MR16 lamp bulbs will be phased out from 2013 if the draft legislation is approved, it appears that they are not environmentally friendly, but the joke is that whilst the environmentally friendly alternative may last a lot longer than a standard bulb, its cost vastly outweighs any financial benefit this might have, according to the article a 12V MR16 bulb costs around £3, while an energy-saving alternative can cost up to £25, I have just had a quick count up, I have 30 of these bulbs in my home, so for me to obey our masters in Brussels and scrap my 12 volt bulbs it is going to cost me £750, thank God I live in Thailand!

Simon Leggett, Managing Director of LED specialists OCG Lighting, said: 'this latest proposal is another misguided piece of legislation from a government who are unfortunately failing to get a handle on the issue of energy efficient lighting', the incandescent bulb phase-out led to the widespread adoption of compact fluorescents that were not only a major step backwards in terms of performance, but also a poor move that encouraged products containing large quantities of mercury to be released into uncontrolled and domestic environments, the European Union, working for you, by the way to show you how good it works, did I mention that it will cost every household in the UK £500 just to keep the European Union going? and all they can do in response is to make the cost of lighting even more expensive.
