As We All Know,

we are in a Health & Safety culture,

one slip and you can sue for millions, well it appears a council did not do their risk assessment and are paying the price, Leicester City Council employed a park warden to erect notices telling people to be careful in the wintry conditions, but he slipped on the very ice that the notices were warning about, he injured his back, neck and arms, so the council due to their negligence have put aside £70,000 to pay him and cover any legal fees, they also forked out nearly £2,000 for 150 pairs of non-slip studded shoe soles to avoid any similar accidents,

pity they did not give him a pair first when they did the risk assessment, oh, I forgot they did not do a risk assessment, but one other thing puzzles me, why does the council not have liability insurance of some kind on the people they employ to cover claims like this, imagine in a worse case scenario the worker had died, thankfully he did not not, but how much compensation wold have to have been paid to his widow, I wonder if the council will now start insuring it's workers?
