we have become quiet used to seeing Jerry's Triumph Stag,
more than a few owners took out the 3.0 litre V8 and dropped in the much more reliable Buick V8 215 cubic inch lump which were at the time used in the Rover 3.5 saloon cars, similar in size the Buick it had the advantage of being aluminium which helped save weight as well,
the problem arose because Triumphs did not have a V8 engine to use in the Stag, so the engineering team chose to take two in line Dolomite engines and bolt them together to make a V8, it appeared the V6 that Triumph did have did not fit the bill, it was a pity that the Triumph V8 was so unreliable, the car could have been so good if it was not for the engine.
Aw, this was an extremely good post. Taking a few minutes and actual effort to
ReplyDeletemake a great article… but what can I say… I procrastinate a lot and never seem to get anything done.
