We Started The Day At The Dentists,

Dr. Chanis whose practise is just opposite Friendship,

 unfortunately Diana had a bit of a toothache, the result being that she needs three filings to be done over the next few weeks,

 then back home to replace a leaking gasket on a filter on one of the aquariums, also to replace some of the pipe work that had become twisted, a 15 minuet job tops, boy was I wrong on that one! filter out to the sink,

 impeller housing cleaned and reassembled,

 next wash and replace some of the cleaning materials,

 all nice and easy as each level has its own basket,

 what could be easier?

 replace the fine nylon wool with a genuine spare,

 then using a tooth pick so as not to damage the gasket seating remove the old gasket,

and replace with a new one, all done in no time at all, then it all started to go horribly wrong, in the UK these filters use a 'U' type bend to remove water from the aquarium and return it, over here the bottom of the aquarium is drilled with 2 holes, so the 'U' bends cannot be seen, the disadvantage is that you have compromised the integrity of the aquarium, when I went to replace the tubing the plastic fittings going through the base of the aquarium were as rotten as a pear, also when the aquarium was installed the company that did so had made gaskets out of rubber that had perished, the holes that had been drilled were to big for the plastic fittings,

 so off to the hardware store for some jubilee clips, some pipe fittings and glue to block off one of the pipes returning water to the aquarium,

I have now installed the filter by the side of the aquarium, where luckily it cannot bee seen, but what a annoying thing to happen, making a 15 minuet job into an almost all afternoon pain in the butt!

 Mark called round just after I had finished so we had a chat until he left and we made our way to the Friday market, we were a bit early a some of the cars and trucks were still unloading their goods,

 slightly cloudy, so there is some hope for rain,

 a clothes stall and one selling flip-flops opposite the bar this evening,

 a quiet livestock aisle this week,

 sunset at the market,

 this week I decided to walk along the food aisles, lots of fresh fruit,

 fish on sticks,

 as well as squid and catfish on sticks,

 there are also stalls that sell precooked food,

 just be careful of the burners keeping the food hot!

 this is a new way of having a fried chip,

  the potato is sliced round a stick, dipped in batter,

 and deep fat fried, I must try one at some time,

 then to one of Diana's favourite stalls, the bugs,

 Jiminy crickets!

 it is still not busy across from the bar, for clothes, flip-flops,

 and mango's,

 Diana returns with some fresh fruit,

 the sky is starting to cloud over, also the wind was really starting to pick up,

 a diet coke for Diana,

 we were also joined by Brian,

 and his wife Sa who thought he was good enough to eat!

when we returned home Jake was waiting to say hello, then feet up, we watched Mythbusters, a couple of Pickers then Shark Night 3D, 15 species of sharks in a freshwater lake, 7 collage kids go for a swim and a film crew that records people being fed to these sharks by crooks for real life footage on an Internet website, mix well and wait for the screams, (from me!), after that bloodfest we were off to bed.
