It All Took Less Than 15 seconds,

from there being 5 cooling towers,

at High Marnham power plant in Nottinghamshire, to none, the towers which are located just west of the river Trent near the village of Dunham, first started helping to provide electricity at the coal-fired station in 1959 and operated until 2003 when the decision was take to put a new development on the site by owner E.ON.

after pushing the button it took just a few seconds,

and it was all over, the actual clean up will take a couple of months, ahead of the demolition Neil Riley, Head of Generation Development for E.ON UK, said: 'I know the announcement of the final demolition timetable will be met with sadness by the many people who worked at the power station but it is essential that we remove the remaining towers as they are in danger of becoming unsafe and they cannot be used again as part of any new development'.
