nearly 40 vehicles belonging to the late Rainier III are going to auction,
they have been on display at a Monaco museum and are being sold by his son, more than 100 of his vehicles have been on display at the Terrace of Fontvieille Museum in Monaco, but now his son, Albert II, has decided to sell 38 of them - with no reserve, some of the cars listed are quite diverse, ranging from a 1968 NSU Sport Prinz coupé to a Porsche 928, there are a couple of oldies there too, like a 1925 Citroën 5 HP torpédo Trèfle, Super-culasse, for a full list and pictures of every car up for sale have a look at Artcurial Motorcars catalogue, the sale is today in Terrasses de Fontvieille, Monaco, if only I had known sooner I could have popped over to to bid on a couple of them!
The Princes of Monaco are certainly car enthusiasts; imagine having a collection of more than 100 automobiles! I doubt if they’ve used every single one in this collection.
ReplyDeleteDear Car Service you are most probably correct, I often read about film stars, television presenters et al, having huge numbers of cars and bikes, but seriously wonder how many of their hundreds of cars and bikes they have the time to drive, still having them must keep an army of mechanics, cleaners and polishers in a job! best regards, Stan and Diana.
