feet up and watching satellite television,
but in the evening we were treated to a light show as a storm started, the rain just crashed down,
still the good news is that it will save me watering the plants tomorrow!
one thing we did watch which was not on satellite was the first episode of Prime Suspect, what a treat!, OK so it was a little over 3 hours long, but the time just flew past, of course dated, it was set in 1991, but the political machinations were so true to life at that time, Helen Mirren played the lead so well as DCI Jane Tennison, she had been passed over so many times as at that time it was not the 'right thing' to have a lead female DCI, so when she was made up to lead a case all of her male colleagues tried to make her life, shall we say uncomfortable?
for instance the first time she goes to use the car her driver opens up the rear door of the car for her to sit in, totally against police protocol, (the head of any investigation always sits in the front next to the driver, junior officers if present on the case sit in the rear), it was small things like this that were used to try to catch her out, also the sharing of information did not go well till a few junior officers were taken to task, a great way to round of the early hours of the morning, then for us we were off to bed.
Dear anonymous, many thanks for the tip, gratefully appreciated, best regards, Stan and Diana.
