Do Not Mess With Fish 170,

and you thought fish were fun!

not many years ago you would have to go to Europe to catch a catfish this size, but not any more, chef James Jones cooked up a new record by catching the biggest freshwater fish ever in the UK - weighing almost as much as him, the 31-year-old, who at 68.6kg is just a few kilos heavier than the 65.3kg beast he netted, took two hours to reel in the huge wels catfish at Oak Lakes Fishery, Essex, Catfish Conservation Group chairman Simon Clarke said: ‘it’s an amazing fish for such a small water and comes as a massive surprise to everyone in the angling world, You have to say well done to the guy because he paid his day ticket just like anyone else and did well to land such an immense fish,'

the current world record for a wels catfish is 113.5kg, a fisherman in Italy caught the largest ever freshwater catch in Europe and the biggest wels catfish in the world, the catfish weighed in at just over 113 kg (17.8 stones) and measured 2.5m (8.2') and was caught in the River Po at Mantova, northern Italy by angler Roberto Godi,

going back to the story, I know he put it back but being a chef I wonder if he thought about how to cook it!
