The Car Show Comes To Town!

staged at the Central Festival it will run till 5th. August,

but first down to the bank, Beach Road will be closed from 3.00 this afternoon as Thursday and Friday are public holidays and a procession along Beach Road will be held,

the street sign near the bank still working well,

this time advertising some of the bars in town,

then on to the show, we had to start with my dream bike stand Ducati, it was nice to see the sales team and bikes again,
one of each model on display,

but this is the one for me,

the Ducati Monster 795, just 399,999 baht (£8,096, $12,686), and it is yours!

there were a few other motorcycle manufactures on display,

like this one selling 125cc bikes, but yet again Harley Davidson showed total contempt for its hundreds of loyal followers in Thailand by not even putting one bike on display, having said that Honda were not here either,

but Yamaha was, I was looking at a couple on display,

and as usual I was spoilt for choice, but these two young ladies helped me with a decision,

to spend more time looking at jetskies,

but back to bikes the Yamaha company had an impressive tourer on display,

as well as the FZ8-N sports bike, so well done to Ducati and Yamaha for supporting their customers,

then on to the cars,

which were on the floor below,

I mentioned on the blog some time ago about cars that had been covered in leather, well there is a German company that can offer the same deal here in Pattaya, the selection coverings are almost endless,

like this one here in a matt red finish, which explains some of the matt finish cars that I have seen around Pattaya,

the BMW 3 series stand looked appealing,

Diana had to pose by Captain Jack Sparrow,

as we walked by the BMW people carrier,

no prizes for guessing my favourite here, the Bentley,

I am guessing this is another car covered in chrome foil like the red Mercedes we saw earlier, I asked the three salesman if it was a Ferrari and was told yes it was, but if it is I am not sure which model,

Diana liked the Mercedes,

followed by the Porsche,

Lexus were also here,
as were Audi,

then a car I was not familiar with, a Ssangyong Stavic 270 people carrier,

for sports car enthusiasts there were a couple on display from rallying,

and track,

we then came to a few in my price range, but even then the Ducati was well under the price of these,

there was even a retro brand new VW beetle,

even the wheels looked as they would have been so many years ago,

we then came upon another covered car this time in titanium, all in all an interesting show, but again many of the players, Ford, Isuzu to name two were not there, but still great a great show to walk around and dream,

then home feet up, a bit of shopping in the market for some fresh fruit for the evening then after our evening meal a few DVDs,

keeping to the car theme we watched Top Gear: The Challenges 1-4 Collection,

it may seem like a lot to watch in one evening but we skipped many that we had already seen on satellite television, we both laughed so much at the antics of the team,

in the same vein we had already watched some of Top Gear: Great Adventures Boxset, like the Vietnam and Botswana adventure just last week,

which again were both so funny, repeat after me 'Clarkson for Prime Minister!' by now it was quiet late, so for us we were off to bed.
