You May Remember Back On The 20th July,

HomeWorks called in to pick up our amplifier/receiver,

the two technicians that called in confirmed that the fault was the amplifier itself, not a lose wire as I had suspected, so back to HomeWorks it went, so today some 19 days later I called in hoping for some good news, well there was some good news and some bad news, the good news first, it had been sent to Bangkok, the bad news, yesterday! yes that is correct HomeWorks looked at it then decided it had to go back to Bangkok so back it went 18 days later,

what poor service for a company such as Onkyo, I would have thought they would have made sure their agents acted quickly when dealing with a product that was less than six months old, but it appears not, so I guess it is now at the bottom of a pile of repair work at Onkyo, so we will have to wait again for our speakers to work, the worse thing is we bought the Onkyo TX-NR609 as so many reviews said how good it was, still the lady did at least say she was sorry they (HomeWorks) had kept it so long, the saga continues,

next stop Tesco for some shopping, whilst there we decided to buy a new smaller rice cooker, the one we have is huge, also a new toaster, the pop up thing has stopped working, (my luck with electrics again!), also a bathroom set of scales, we want to see how our diets are going, not well I am guessing, then home, feet up for the evenings television, having said that Mark called round in the afternoon for a coffee and a chat,

we watched a few more television series such as Axeman and Deadly Forensics, but last thing in the evening another from Waking the Dead, The Fall, unlike the previous episode this was a delight to watch except one thing, the gold bars, they were being smuggled and looked to be the standard gold bar brick size being approximately 7 x 3-5/8 x 1-3/4 inches, the weight of the bars is about 400 ounces, 25 pounds, so it was a super human feat when a banker lifted a case of 20 or so of then with just one hand under the case, but back to the plot, two bodies fall from the ceiling at a bank, a secret room is discovered, both have been killed by a single bullet, cover up follows cover up, even the 'suicide' of 'God's banker' Roberto Calvi was brought into the plot, a much better episode than the last one, by now it was late so we were off to bed.

  1. Stan,

I did see you up at the market last week and your looking slimmer. So the diet must be having a desired effect.

  2. Dear Anonymous, many thanks for your kind comment, the reason we bought a scale was to see if the diet was really working, at the moment I am around 89 kgs, so I will see where I am in a few weeks time, we are off to the market this evening so maybe we will seee you there, best regards, Stan and Diana.
