First Thing,

we are off fishing,

to the Mamak Fishing Park, the easiest way to describe how to get there is go along Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), which is the Soi that runs parallel to Soi Siam Country Club, for a couple of miles, as you near the bottom of a slight hill you will notice a large pink building called the Pussy Cat on the left, opposite there is a Soi go along that, it does get a bit narrow but keep on it and you will see the fishing park,

there are lots of poolside huts to fish from, bait and rods can be hired,

in the main building there is a pool,

containing several small alligator gars, (Atractosteus spatula), they can grow to be huge,

I also noticed a cage outside,

 housing a pet squirrel,

drinks ordered it was time to start fishing,

the sky was a bit overcast so we were expecting rain,

then the first (and only) fish of the day to me, much to Diana's relief,

Diana had not eaten breakfast so we were told to catch a fish ASAP as she was hungry, so in a matter of moments there it was on the plate,

cooked with garlic, you can not get fresher than that! Nick did the honours serving the fish,

so now we had to catch a few more to take home,

then a nice surprise the fishing park owners brought the girls two fresh coconuts, a nice gesture indeed,

now a few more for the pot,

but alas try as we might we did not catch another fish all day,

not that Ta-Taa minded, she was as happy as a happy thing,

more rain clouds rolled in as the day progressed, but no more fish, so 1 - 0 to me,

this is the card for the park,

and map on the reverse,

we then went back to Nick and Maureen's when we had a huge meal complete with cheese and biscuits and for Diana a chocolate ice cream, many thanks to Nick and Maureen for taking such good care of us,

then to the serious part of the evening, Monopoly, which through shear good luck by landing on a complete set of streets put me into an early lead coupled with the fact that every one was drawn to my hotels like a moth to a flame, so for me a double win, but great fun all round, we said our goodbyes to Nick & Maureen and made our way home, by now it was late so one quick look at the television and we were off to bed.
