How To Waste £2,000 In One Easy Lesson,

hire some one in a SpongeBob Squarepants costume to turn on the Christmas lights,

then ban him from the stage and the back of a float which was due to carry him around town, you can imagine how upset some of kids were when only those at the front at ground level could see him, schoolgirl Jessica Drew, 10, who went along with her guide group to watch the lights, said: 'the fireworks were really good and we enjoyed it but we were disappointed that we didn’t see SpongeBob, We just thought that he hadn’t turned up because we never saw him once, there was no sign of him on stage at all,'

full marks must therefore go to Wolverhampton City Council who paid for the non-appearance of the character, and of course to the same council's Mark Blackstock, outdoor events manager for the council who said, 'unfortunately, the character actor playing SpongeBob Squarepants was unable to climb the stairs on to the stage because of his costume, Health and Safety considerations meant we were unable to lift him on to the stage using the tailgate of one of our vehicles because of the high numbers of people around the stage',

I would have thought that some one who's sole job is to plan for these events would have had the truck with tailgate already in place before the crowds arrived, but then I am not a outdoor events manager working for Wolverhampton City Council, your local council working for you.
