Numbers In The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission Python 2013 Are Up,

now some 749 hunters are ready to do battle,

the vast majority it appears are members of the general public who lack the permits usually required to harvest pythons on public lands, twenty-eight python permit holders also joined the hunt at various locations in the Everglades, I mention the hunt a couple of days ago in a post, at that time about 500 people had signed up, so the enthusiasm for a snake hunt is growing,

Nick Wiley, executive director of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said, 'it's very safe, getting out in the Everglades, people do it all the time,' so with people coming from 32 states starting last Saturday hundreds of amateurs armed with clubs, machetes and guns are going to the Florida Everglades, the advice given to participants is, 'drink water, wear sunscreen, don't get bitten by anything and don't shoot anyone',

sound advice, remember it's a jungle out there!
