Another One Of Those 'Good Luck' Stories We Like So Much,

this time featuring a vase bought at a yard sale for $3,

but of course this is not just any old vase, the bowl is from the Northern Song Dynasty, which was a ruling dynasty in China between 960 and 1279 - and was divided into two distinct periods: the Northern Song and Southern Song, the seller bought it in 2007 and had it displayed in their living room for several years, but became curious about it's history and contacted Sothebys in New York, the rest is as they say history, the bowl just five inches in diameter had a pre-sale estimate of $200,000 to $300,000, which is a pretty good return on the original $3, so you can imagine the sellers delight when the bidding stopped at $2.23 million, lucky or what!
