Do Not Mess With Fish 190,

and you thought fish were fun!

but these ones were defiantly not, some 65 tons of them, all dead, the tragedy happened at the lagoon Rodrigo de Freitas in Rio de Janeiro, apparently rain water that contain fertiliser was washed in to the lagoon from the surrounding area after a rain storm, the water dissolved the fertiliser which as it was washed into the lake de-oxygenated the water killing the fish, hopefully a similar occurrence will not happen again,

or at least not till after the 2016 Olympics, the lagoon is the location for Brazil’s Olympic rowing lake, the worry is this massive kill off has happened in the lake before in 2009 when some 100 tons of fish died, but it is such a shame when this type of accident happens, hopefully city officials will try to make sure it does not happen again.
