Some Residents In Swindon,

could hardly believe their eyes,

when they woke to found double yellow lines painted on both sides of an alleyway, too narrow to drive a car down, the alley, which measures just 1.4 metres wide, runs between the top of Newhall Street and Stanier Street near the town centre, was painted last week when other roads in the area were having double yellows put down, to put things in perspective there is just 13 inches of space between the two sets of yellow lines – which is roughly the width of just one tyre on a supercar,

a Swindon Council spokesman said: 'local residents have asked us to deal with illegal parking in alleyways, but it seems that our contractors forgot just how big cars actually are when they painted this one, We will be taking it up with them'.
