Another Barn Find Comes Up For Sale,

this time a 1966 Aston Martin DB 6 Vantage,

a little history for any one of the James Bond wannabes out there, this car was last bought for just £4,000 in the 1970s and has spent the last 30 years languishing under a thick layer of dust in a barn, the four-litre, 325bhp six cylinder engine was rebuilt, fully lubricated and stored in a container with 86,000 miles on the clock, but everything else is as found, having said that you will still have to find one of the car's two spotlights and a rear bumper both of which are missing,

Tim Schofield, director of Bonhams motor car department, said: 'this is a beautiful car but I imagine nearly everything needs doing to it, it is complete but it is going to require a restoration in the full sense of the word, this one needs the full monty, if you were to get it restored to its former glory by the best there is you would be lucky to come away with a bill that is less than £200,000, however it would then be worth that or more',

so if you want an immaculate rebuild and have £200,000 in your back pocket this could be the one to go for, by the way I should of course mention that the car itself in this condition is expected to go for £30,000, but of course if two wealthy petrol heads both become interested who knows how high the bidding will go? the sale will be held at Aston Martin Works in Buckinghamshire on May 18, would I want it? well I have to say that the car like this rapidly approaching £250,000 I could be tempted by one or two others in that price range.
