When Ever We See pictures Of Coral Reefs,

we are always struck by the vibrant colours of the reef and it's inhabitants,

but going back to the roots of photography Hengki Koentjoro decided to use black-and-white film in his underwater shoots, taken in and around Jakarta, Indonesia,

using just black and white puts a totally different complexion on pictures taken on the reefs,

what was once familiar and easy to recognise,

like this coral almost become abstract in its appearance, what a neat idea taking something which is normally so colourful and going back to basic black and white, if you want to look at more of this photographer's work go to this link here.
