in the average city? quite a few I am guessing and have thought they were an eyesore, the good news is that with help from artists such as San-Francisco based mural artist Mona Caron, they no longer need to be dull grey boxes, they can be transformed to subtly fit in with their surroundings, take this one that was commissioned by the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency, you have to admit it the box certainly blends into its surroundings!
