Take Eight Tons Of Nails And 250 Gallons Of Paint,

add tree trunk logs imported from Holland and wooden shingles brought in from Canada,

bring them all to a beach in Malta and what do you have? Popeye's village

over 20 wooden structures were built on the set from Robert Altman's film Popeye, it was never pulled down and remains on the island as a sort of misplaced relic,

rather then tearing it down, or leaving it abandoned, the islanders saw the set for what it was: a pre-built theme park, they simply took over the abandoned set, hired actors, and the Popeye Village was born, so if you fancy a completely different day out the address is Popeye's Village, Sweethaven Village, Il-Mellieħa, Malta,  phone:+356 2152478234. there is a travel guide giving opening times and how to get there here, have fun and keep eating the spinach!
