We Decided On A Nice Quiet Day On The Beach,

so off to Jomtien we went,

 being a Sunday,

there were a few more people about, but the beach was still pretty deserted,

so we settled down for a bit to eat,

I should say the girls did, Diana had already cooked breakfast for Steve and myself at home,

we all started to read or play games on phones, but I was watching this chap in front of us,

he was scooping up sand in a sieve,

washing it,

 them taking what was left,

to his collecting bucket, he was in fact collecting small clams or I guess you could call them mussels that live in the sand that is exposed at low tide, I have not tried eating them myself, but have been told they taste quiet nice when cooked,

it was also fun watching people on the banana boats streak past, then our quiet day was shattered, a music truck, one with huge loudspeakers started up it's generator, yes the speakers and amplifiers take so much power they have their own petrol generator, the noise of the music was deafening and we were not the nearest group of people near it! we had no choice but to move as we literally could not speak to each other or be heard, which was a shame for the lady that rented the part of the beach that we were on, we were her only customers,

so along to a new stretch of sand, at this stage Noi had joined us, naturally camera phones were out to record the scene,

and this was what the beach looked like,

we still had the beach pretty much to ourselves,

unfortunately Noi will be leaving for Bangkok later today, but hopefully we will see her again when Steve and Kai visit next,

then home and wash off all of the unwanted sand, Steve and Kai were going out to town, whilst Mr. Tony Diana and myself went to Cherry's for our Sunday evening meal, the restaurant is on Third Road opposite what was once the X-Cite disco,

 first a complimentary amuse bouche,

 followed by the salad bar,

we ordered the set Sunday special,

 our starters arrived,

spring salad with mango, avocado, melon,
macadamir nut and boiled shrimps with a balsamico dressing,

soup was the next course, tomato for Diana, lobster bisque for Mr. Tony and myself,

 'Cheers!',

and adopting the same pose for the lemon sorbet,

 our main courses arrived,

for Diana, baked chicken breast on gratin potato topped with mushroom and cheese served with a herb gravy,

for Mr. Tony braised pork shoulder in a red wine sauce served with mashed potato and braised red cabbage,

for myself I went with the beef tenderloin steak on garlic mashed potato served with port wine sauce and fried onion rings,

we all remarked how delicious our meals were but the best was yet to come, the dessert,

it was a work of art just to look at it, the dessert being a mille-fueille of puff pastry with mango, vanilla cream, raspberry sauce and vanilla ice cream, I am trying to think of a word which means more than the word delicious, but I can not think of one, this meal is this weeks special gourmet dinner, normally priced at 495 baht per person, but on Sunday this is reduced to 350 baht, a real bargain, we were all so impressed, then home feet up to watch some television,

Steve and Kai had very kindly brought us out the complete Cheers collection all 11 series and arrived home shortly after we did, so we watched a few of them, after saying our goodbyes to Mr. Tony, we were all so tried from the day on the beach we were all off to bed.
