We Have A Busy Day Today,

so straight on with yesterdays post,

 we were off fishing,

 with Nick and Maureen,

the good news was that the first of the new fishing huts had been completed, so we were back on the side of the pool we normally fish from,

the bad news was that we went through a torrential rainstorm on the way here, so bad we slowed to a crawl in some places it rained so heavily,

and in this panoramic shot of the lake it looks like the rain storm is going to catch us up,

but as it turned out apart from a few spots of rain we stayed dry all day,

Nick hooked the first fish of the day, but lost it, I was a bit more lucky landing my first one, but it was a tad too small so back it went,

 must try harder,

so I did and caught a beauty,

no sooner unhooked than Diana was on  her way to the lakes kitchen with it, dinner will soon be on the way!

a third fish fell my way, meanwhile Nick had caught a small one that was put back,

but this was a keeper so he went in the net to take home,

the first fish arrived at the table with rice and scrambled eggs and toast,

clouds still kept rolling in, but luck was with us as we hardly had a drop of rain at the lake,

Diana prepares the fish taking of the skin and removing the bones,

we then noticed we were not the only ones fishing at the lake,

a heron on the other side of the lake was also having a good day,

the fish almost looked to big to eat,

but it was soon eaten and the heron was on the lookout for it's second course,

then another bird arrived looking for a meal, a Kingfisher,

and very nice it looked too,

it was hot work all of this fishing, although the clouds were rolling by, at ground level there was not a hint of a breeze,

along the side of the lake this shoal of small snakeheads continued to swim past,

I decided to take a break whilst Diana took a few pictures,

the shoal of snakeheads decided to give my float the once over,

work was continuing on putting in a new drainage system,

I was into another, it was huge,

well it had to be a huge one, it was the one that got away!

a damselfly took advantage of the rod tip to look out for prey,

so I zoom in with the camera and took this shot which I think looks quiet nice considering how far away I was standing,

 the Kingfisher made another appearance,

it somehow seems strange seeing a Kingfisher against the leaves of a banana plant, but there we are,

next stop a unattended fishing rod,

then back to the far side of the lake, by now it was late afternoon, the score at 3-1 against Nick, the place we fish at is called the Mamak Fishing Park, it is off of Soi Nub Plan Wan, (spelt as it sounds), turn into the Soi from Sumkivitt, over the railway crossing and continue for a couple of miles, the road starts to go downhill, near the bottom of it the road the fishing park is in is on the right, follow that for a while and the fishing park is on the left,

 the parks card,

and map, so we then made a move for Nick and Maureen's house

Diana got comfortable,

where she then telephoned her family,

 and Ta-Taa had a rest,

for our evening meal Maureen had cooked a pork dinner with crackling,

which was delicious,

 'Cheers!',

then after cheese and biscuits and ice cream it was down to the serious part of the evening, Monopoly, looking at the picture no prizes for guessing who won! Diana managed to complete a street in record time then bankrupted us one by one as we all decided to stay in one of her hotels, after a splendid day we said our goodbyes and thanked Nick and Maureen for looking after us so well,

arriving home we watched a couple of episodes of Cheers, then for us we were off to bed.
