It Seems Strange To Think,

that the house pictured below,

is one of the most reproduced and parodied images ever made, at the top of this list are Leonardo's Mona Lisa and Edvard Munch's The Scream, almost unbelievably this house coming in third, it was painted by Grant Wood, but the picture above is not quite complete,

 painted in front of it Grant placed his sister Nan as a model for the woman and Cedar Rapids dentist, Byron McKeeby, Grant modelled each element separately, the two models never actually stood together in front of the house,

and here is the picture many of us enjoy looking at, American Gothic, the painting has been criticised then admired from it's creation till now, but who would have thought a chance drive by an artist would lead to one of the most parodied paintings in the world?
