which makes sense, if you have enough trains, in north Norfolk all it took was one bird and a series of unfortunate events to make the perfect shortage of trains, one was out-of-service for repairs following a recent fatality in the Stowmarket area added to the fact that Greater Anglia was carrying out two refurbishment programs which meant individual trains were routinely out of use for periods of time, then along comes one stray bird and that is it, 


a bird strike which put a north Norfolk train out of action three days ago is continuing to disrupt rail services across the region today, the latest list of cancellations, in Suffolk, follows a string on Saturday which affected services between Norwich and Sheringham, Yarmouth and Lowestoft, the incident happened when the 5.40am Bittern Line Norwich to Sheringham train was brought to a halt near Worstead, all of that from one bird, just think if there had been another bird hitting another train the whole of the Southern rail network could have been brought to it's knees!


as an aside the clue is in the name of the line, you would think that with a name like Bittern Line Norwich, there would be a clue there that there are bitterns about and a bird screen would be fitted to all trains in the area.
