Off On A Quest For A Duck,

so first stop,

Big C Extra on Central Road,

we managed to find a parking space at the front of the building so we walked past the shrine,

and naturally we had to have an ice cream at Swensens,

or two,

Diana chose the chocolate special, I just stuck with the strawberry tower,

after that the mission was a success, we bought the duck, also some lamb for future Sunday roasts and some flowers for the table tomorrow, then after dropping Diana off at home I filed the bike with petrol and called in to the repair shop,

the tires needed a spot of air as they were getting flat at the bottom,

by the time I arrived home Diana had put the flowers in water,

and nice they looked too, in the afternoon Alex and son Alex called round,

then it was glad rags on,

 and off to town,

we took the motorbike taxis to the junction of second Road and Soi Diamond, then walked down the narrow Soi Diamond,

till it opens up into the bar area, the bar here has been here for as long as I can remember, the nice thing about sitting at this one is the it revolves so you can watch the world go round,

we made our way along Walking Street,

keeping pace with some other tourists,

there were still mobile food sellers on the street, but they like all traffic will have left by 7.00 in the evening,

we had decide to walk past the Lobster Pot, our usual restaurant on Walking Street,

and try one of the others,

but in the end we both decided that we like the seats were we normally sit, so back we went,

past this gentleman who sells orchids who has been here for at least 32 years,

 and in we went,

it looked like everything had been renewed,

with lots of tempting fish as well as seafood,

we made our way to the seating area, we thought we were the only dinners but there was in fact one other couple eating,

 a piña colada for Diana,

just the thing to watch the sun go down with,

a medicinal red wine for me,'Cheers!',

we were going to order the seafood platter with a carafe of wine as we normally do, but roughly 6 weeks ago the deal was 1,695 baht, which it had been for a year or more, the last time we were here about 3 weeks ago it had risen to 1,850 baht which seemed fair enough, nothing stays the same forever, but this week the price for the same deal had risen to 2,700, so we skipped the seafood platter and ordered off of the menu,

for our first course we ordered tom yum gong,

 followed by prawns tempura,

200 grams of prawns, 5 each, though I have a sneaky feeling it was 6-4 to Diana!

the view from our table looking directly out to sea,

two of the floating restaurants in the distance,

looking to the right the restaurant next door,

 and to the left,

the Pattaya City sign in the distance,

our main courses then started to arrive,

 baby clams,

crab meat in a yellow curry sauce,

so it was eyes down and tuck in,

 'Cheers!', again,

we also ordered some bar-b-q prawns,

I had to help Diana out with her piña colada,

we were so full we did not order a dessert, the meal including a liter of house wine came to 2,565 baht about 500 baht less than we normally spend but then we do normally have a dessert and I have an Irish coffee,

we were going to take a stroll along the street,

but in the end we turned into Soi Diamond, so we never did find out what 808 was,

we made our way past the Diamond Beach Hotel,

and on to a motorbike taxi each and home we went, what a great night out,

feet up for a couple from The Doctor Blake Mysteries, a nightcap and we were off to bed.
