We Had a Quiet Day,

and stayed at home,

after our evening meal we watched the second DVD from David Attenborough's Natural Curiosities, in fact we both enjoyed it so much we watched all of the third one as well!, just a minor admission, the program that featured the Duck Billed Platypus mentioned the spur that the male platypus has on it's hind limb, but did not then go on to say what it was for or that the spur can deliver venom, delivering a cocktail of substances that cause excruciating pain, then a major faux pas, whilst talking about the electric catfish from the River Nile in Africa,

which as it happens I have swam with in Lake Tanganyika(Malapterurus electricus), pictured above,

the producer for some reason inserted some footage of the Tiger Shovelnose catfish (Phseudoplatystoma faciatium) that only naturally occurs in South America! but those minor gripes apart it was a great set of DVDs, well worth watching even if you only have the slightest interest in the natural world around us,

to round off the evening we watched the last episode of The Doctor Blake Mysteries, we enjoyed the series so much we will be ordering the second series and with that we were off to bed.
