I Am Guessing,

that most of us have seen a lava lamp,

popular in the 1960s, they have made a few come backs over the years, but here is a new one with a difference,

designer Kale Haines has made one using ferrofluid, which is basically made up of tiny magnetic fragments of iron suspended in oil (often kerosene) with a surfactant to prevent clumping (usually oleic acid), but here is the neat bit about the new lamp, with a magnet or two you can play with it,

he has launched a Kickstarter featuring his design for a 'motion lamp' filled with heated ferrofluid that can be manipulated with a pair of magnets called the Inspiration, so not available yet, but it looked so neat I just had to post it on the blog.
